this work was originally conceived for an open call of the neues museum in nuremberg. after rejection it was exhibited at "offen auf aeg" 2013, an open day of the studios, located on the former company area of aeg (manufacturer of electronic devices) in nuremberg. to use books as pixels seemed to be an attractive way to bridge the gap between the two media word and image. for this purpose i used the most unpoetic projection-surface, that came to mind, a pornographic image. after collecting a huge amount of used books, they were assembled in size and color and placed on the right spot on the bookshelf in order to display a pornographic screenshot. the discrepancy between the diversity of phantasy, manifested in the contents of the books, and the simple banal gesture of using their covers to create an image, was my main interest in this work.
